Profhilo® Treatment

At MEDfacials, we offer the best Profhilo® treatments in Cornwall and the South West, a revolutionary skin remodelling treatment that achieves visible results in just two visits.

Profhilo® Treatment
An innovative wrinkle cure, Profhilo® turns back the clock, restoring natural beauty that has been lost over the years.

Part of our extensive range of facial treatments, Profhilo®  is a pioneering skin remodelling treatment. Rivalling dermal fillers, this revolutionary new treatment takes less than 10 minutes to complete, including five injection points into your target area. It works by stimulating four different types of collagen and elastin due to the slow release of hyaluronic acid, resulting in significantly improved tissue quality and glowing, rejuvenated skin

Is Profhilo® Right for Me? ?

We start losing a significant amount of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid after we reach 30. It’s around this time that we can start to consider preventative treatments to maintain radiant, healthy skin.

If you feel you have noticed the onset of fine lines and wrinkles  but are not ready to try dermal fillers yet, Profhilo® is a fantastic solution. A superb, non-invasive treatment that achieves fantastic results, it is suitable for men and women looking to refresh and revive their skin.

Did you know? Profhilo® is not a filler, it is a new Hyaluronic Acid gel, one of the latest innovations to treat the skin laxity by skin bio-remodelling.

What Results Can I Expect?

After just a single course of our Profhilo® treatments in Cornwall, which involves two injectable treatments four weeks apart, clients can expect to see intense hydration and smoother, tighter skin. The wonderful results make the skin glow and fine lines can disappear, while very wrinkled skin is visibly improved.

How does Profhilo® work?

How Does Profhilo® Work?

Profhilo® uses stable, hybrid cooperative complexes of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) at high and low molecular weights which creates a unique concentration of pure Hyaluronic Acid. Only using the finest products available, we inject 64mg in 2ml into the superficial subcutaneous layer of skin with a 29g TW needle for the very best results.

Thanks to the unique characteristics of Profhilo®, tighter, rejuvenated skin can be achieved in just two sessions. There’s a one-month interval between each initial treatment for long-lasting results, and treatment can then be repeated after 6 months in cases where more repair is desired.

Profhilo® may be injected using all aesthetic techniques, according to the suggested injection layer:

* Hydrating and stimulating action, related to low molecular weight (L-HA) HYDRO2.
* Dermal scaffold action (support), related to high molecular weight (H-HA) LIFT3
.

What is Profhilo®?

Profhilo is a unique procedure which treats skin that lacks tightness, in other words, the looseness that develops as we age.  It is a wrinkle cure, that turns back the clock, restoring natural beauty that has been lost over the years.

FAQs

Will my face look lumpy after the Profhilo® has been injected and how long might this last for?

Following on from Profhilo®, there is the chance that localised lumps can form where each of the injection sites have been. These lumps will subside usually within 4-6 hours after the treatment, but they can last up to 24 hours. Not every client gets these swellings, and if you have had treatment and are concerned, please do give us a call.

How long will the treatment last for?

Patients can expect increased firmness, elasticity and an overall improved quality of the skin for up to six months.

Will people be able to tell I've 'had work done'?

Most people were complimented on how fresh they looked, but hardly ever asked what they had done. Where lifting occurs, some people might notice this but it is a softer, more natural approach than some injectables.

What if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

We do not recommend that you have any injectable treatments if you suspect or can confirm that you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

What can I do to ensure I get the best results from my injectable treatments?

Here are a few tips to optimise the outcome of your treatment: Avoid having any alcohol the day before your treatment. This will help to minimise the chance of bruising. In the week before your treatment, try to avoid taking aspirin, ibuprofen or any other type of anti-inflammatory medication as this will also increase your risk of a bruise occurring.

For Botox – please do not plan to have any other facial treatments (peels, facials, waxing, threading, semi-permanent makeup) for a week following your treatment. It is ok to have these treatments at any time before your Botox visit.

For Dermal Fillers – please do not plan to have any other skin treatments (peels, facials, microdermabrasion, micro needling) for 1 week prior and 2 weeks after your dermal filler treatment.

If you have been unwell with a cold virus, cold sore (herpes) or any other skin rash or condition, please phone the clinic to check if you should still attend your appointment. Your general medical health is important, and we are happy to reschedule your aesthetic treatment if necessary.

After your treatment, please closely follow the aftercare advice given to you by your Medical Injector, and please do not apply anything else to the treatment area, unless previously discussed.

Is there any downtime after treatment?

The downtime is minimal. When injected using the five-point technique on each side of the face, each insertion is immediately noticeable. However, they start diffusing very quickly and they disappear completely by the next day. After the treatment, it is recommended to avoid strenuous physical activity and sports for 24 hours. Please also avoid having further cosmetic procedures for 48 hours. It is not recommended to have a sauna or steamy bath for the first few days either. It’s best to stay out of the sun if any bruising or prolonged swelling occurs.

Will there be any side effects?

Profhilo® was launched in February 2015 in Italy and has been used worldwide ever since. Over 150,000 patients have been treated so far with no adverse reactions reported. From a safety perspective, Profhilo® is highly biocompatible. That’s because it is made from ultrapure, natural Hyaluronic Acid which is very well tolerated by the skin.

After your treatment, the common effects are mild redness, slight swelling and possible bruising. The treatment area may feel tender to touch and all of these effects are normal, will subside in a few days, but may last up to a week. Each day everything should improve slightly and the area should look more normal and feel better. It is very uncommon to have any serious side effects, however if you do experience any of the following, please call the clinic immediately, or if after hours, seek help from a GP or A&E: swelling that is getting worse as time passes - increase in pain and getting more severe with time - skin feeling hot, redness increasing and becoming worse in time - skin near the treatment area or along the side of the nose looking pale/white or greyish in colour on the day or day after the treatment, and pain increasing in this area- generally feeling unwell in the days following your treatment

Is the treatment safe?

Yes! The product is safe and is stabilised without the addition of chemical cross-linking agents. This reduces the risk of adverse reactions. The product has also won numerous awards. In addition, our Medical Injectors are experienced with all aspects of HA Dermal Fillers and the type of results that can be achieved. Dermal filler treatment is not ‘one size fits all’, and the injector will discuss the best ‘look’ for you in your bespoke, detailed consultation. We can assure you that your Profhilo treatment at our Cornwall clinic will be delivered safely, and in accordance with your wishes based on a thorough consultation. Dermal Fillers are a popular treatment because most people are really happy with the results.
